The Italian Transnational Studies program proudly presents We Weer Here. The Untold History of Black Africans in Renaissance Europe, a groundbreaking documentary by the Afro-Italian & US multi-hyphenate artist and filmmaker Fred Kudjo Kuwornu. This documentary was filmed across Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, England, and Brazil, explores the presence of Africans in Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries through the reinterpretation of famous paintings depicting Africans, and it was first showcased at the Central Pavilion of the 2024 International Venice Biennale of Art.
