Welcome all to the UCSB Italian Club!
The UCSB Italian Club welcomes everybody to a new academic year full of wonderful events. Please join us in this impactful and fun club. Our motto is that truly everyone is welcome, whether you speak Italian or not. Whatever your background, major, or origin, come and be part of our club!
We invite everyone to free events to explore Italian culture, lifestyle, food, films, music, dancing and much more. Our fun meetings and events not only facilitate cultural and social exchange among UCSB students but with the local community as well. Our goal is not only to share the Italian language and culture but to leave a positive impact in the Santa Barbara community.

First Meeting of the 2023-2024 Year!
The UCSB Italian Club had a great turnout of 34 students for the first meeting of the year. Friends were made, pizza was eaten, and more Italian events were planned for the year. Keep an eye on our website for details. Benvenuti!

Italian Cooking Night
We were proud to partner with Katie’s FUNd Program in collaboration with Chef Dario Furlati from the restaurant Ca’Dario to host Italian cooking night in April 2023. The event was held at the Alpha Resource Center and brought over 60 people together from the UCSB community, the special needs youth community from Katie’s FUNd and gracious helpers at the center. Dancing Evening with World Dance for Humanity
We also worked with World Dance For Humanity, a nonprofit organization which, among other good causes, helps to provide school books to kids in need in Rwanda. During the evening we learned Italian dances and we tasted food from the regions of Piemonte and Campania from where the 2 dances we learned are from (and Tarantella). Renato Moiso, from All Italia Imports, talked about his region Piemonte and offered fantastic ravioli with truffles.
The club also organized many other events last year such as game night, Thanksgiving craft night, Tombola night, Karaoke night, painting and art night.
Italy versus Germany Annual Soccer Game
Forza Azzurri! The soccer match between the Italian and German teams saw the Italian Azzurri win 3-1. The event brought together the two language programs for their fourth annual match on Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Rec Center fields. The game attracted a large and enthusiastic crowd of about 50 students and faculty. The game, tied 1-1 at the end of the first half, turned in favor of the Italian team in the last 10 minutes of the game, when the Azzurri sprinted to their victory by scoring two more goals.
